NHK Goes Videocasting

NHK, the national public service broadcaster of Japan, launched its first videocast, “NHK Shu-Kan Member’s Guide Video Ban” (rss, mp3), or the NHK Weekly Video Guide, on the 18th October 2005. It’s a video version of their podcast of the same title, hosted by two NHK announcers (image top), where they promote their various TV programmes. So far, all the videos have been shot only in the studio. The videocast also has a semi-interactive section called “Watashi No Podcasting Taiken” (or My Podcasting Experience) where the announcers read out emails from the audience about their favourite podcasts and how to listen to them.
