最新の英語辞典に'podcast'登場：Oxford Dictionary of English

'podcast' （ポッドキャスト）という造語の生みの親、Ben Hammersley氏のブログによると、2005年8月9日、最新のオックスフォード英語辞典(Oxford Dictionary of English)にpodcastが新語として登録された。（原文）。
意味は以下のように定義されている：
podcast(定義)
• noun a digital recording of a radio broadcast or similar programme, made available on the Internet for downloading to a personal audio player.

podcasting noun.
— origin early 21st century: from iPod, a proprietary name for a personal audio player.
Podcastという言葉が初めてインターネットで使われた歴史的瞬間は、2004年2月12日。The Guardianに記載されたHammersley氏による記事の中に登場した：
